President Margaret L. Drugovich P’12 often speaks with students about Hartwick’s “river of time”, underscoring their place in the history of the College and the fact that just by being here they are altering the course of Hartwick forever. The same is true of our alumni. You changed Hartwick when you were a student and you can continue to do so as a graduate by being an active donor whose gifts advance the College.
Your class reunion offers an opportunity to reflect on what this fine college means to you, to renew your ties to Oyaron Hill, and to commemorate your place in Hartwick’s history. What better way to celebrate your shared past that doing something significant to ensure your college’s future?
The Hartwick that you knew has changed in some ways, and so have you. But at its core Hartwick remains a community characterized by a balance of challenge and support for students as they push their personal limits and pursue countless opportunities. Join your classmates and together make generous reunion gifts that will make a difference to generations of students to come.
The highest priority for reunion giving is The Hartwick Fund, which supports the core needs of the College, providing unrestricted dollars for scholarships, academic programs, and student life. Unrestricted gifts to the annual fund provide a critical bridge between tuition revenue and the actual cost of running the College while also enabling the President and other College leaders the flexibility to seize unforeseen opportunities.
Hartwick College depends on the generosity, enthusiasm, and class spirit of Reunion classes to anchor the Annual Fund. Celebrating a reunion can be a catalyst among our alumni for increased financial support. The class campaign also helps strengthen ties by renewing shared feelings of pride and loyalty. Successful reunion classes set the pace of both Reunion attendance and Annual Fund participation, and help to inspire other classes through their Class Reunion campaigns.
Gifts and pledges to all Hartwick College departments and programs during the fiscal year are recognized. Your gift will be counted in the class giving total, which is measured in total dollars contributed and class participation rate. (Note: totals do not include estate gifts pledged to Hartwick College.)
