Purpose
Policy #6.23: This policy outlines Hartwick’s expectations for employee work attendance.

This policy applies to all employees regardless of employment type.

Workplace Expectations

Employees who will be late or unable to report to work are expected to notify the appropriate supervisor or their designee prior to the start of the employee’s scheduled work day (unless circumstances make it impossible to call). Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may cause an employee to receive an unsatisfactory performance evaluation and may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal. If an employee fails to report to work for two consecutive days without notifying the supervisor or designee, the employee will be considered to have abandoned their position and employment will be terminated.
