Department of Business Administration Overview
The Department of Business Administration prepares students for employment in a range of for profit and not-for-profit settings from Wall Street to Main Street or for graduate study. Our innovative team based classroom experiences, off-campus study options, and internship opportunities provide sophisticated learning experiences in the business sub-fields of organizational behavior, marketing, finance, entrepreneurship, accounting, and strategy among others.
Further, our curriculum explicitly incorporates entrepreneurship and innovation and draws upon the liberal arts tradition to build strong skills in writing, oral presentation, critical reasoning, and cultural awareness that collectively nurture an innovative entrepreneurial spirit and enhance success over a lifetime.
Please Note: Hartwick College focuses on offering fall, January, and spring term undergraduate courses in person, however circumstances may require us to offer a small number of courses in this department through distance education. In times of emergency, following regulatory guidelines, all classes may temporarily need to be delivered through distance education, including online. We also offer a slate of courses online in the summer to help our students make progress towards their degrees. With support from an academic advisor, students needing particular courses may have other online options as well. If you have questions about the way courses are delivered in your program, please contact your Department or Program Chair.
