New Student Housing Application

Here are step-by-step instructions on how to complete your housing application.

HOUSING PORTAL

1. Log in to the Housing Portal using your Hartwick credentials.

2. Select the appropriate term.

3. Complete the Missing Persons information if you choose to. Select Save and Continue.

4. On the Residential Application and Housing Exemption Application page, select the Residential Housing Application from the drop down menu.

5. On the next page, select Start Housing Application.

6. Review your general details and indicate if you are applying for a housing accommodation. Click Save and Continue.

7. Complete the Roommate Matching questionnaire. Don’t forget to tell us all about you in your personal profile! If you have a preferred roommate, you will list them on this page.

8. Indicate if you are interested in any theme communities and answer the appropriate questions for your selected theme.

9. Select your room type preference and meal plan. All first year and transfer students are required to have the Unlimited plan their first academic year.

10. Click Save and Continue, then enter your student number to sign your housing contract.

Students can qualify to be exempt from the residential requirement for the following reasons:
1. over 23 years of age at the beginning of the term;
2. married;
3. primary guardian of a minor child;
4. medical accommodation cleared through our AccessAbility Services office;
5. live with a parent or guardian within 30 miles of campus;
6. live in a recognized Greek organization house as a member.

HOUSING PORTAL

1. Log in to the Housing Portal using your Hartwick credentials.

2. Click on Housing Application.

3. Select the appropriate term.

4. Complete the Missing Persons contact if you choose to. Select Save and Continue.

5. On the Residential Application and Housing Exemption Application page, select the Housing Exemption application from the drop down and click Save and Continue.

6. On the next page, select Housing Exemption from the drop down menu.

7. Select your exemption reason from the drop down. Provide us with additional information regarding your exemption.

8. Provide your address and then be prepared to upload the appropriate documentation.
Documentation for each exemption reason is different:
-Over 23: a picture of an ID that shows your birthdate
-Married: a copy of a marriage certificate
-Primary Guardian of Child: a copy of a birth certificate
-Medical Accommodation: a copy of the confirmation email received from the Housing Accommodation account
-Living within 30 miles of campus: a signed letter from the parent/guardian you would be residing with

9. Housing Exemptions are reviewed on a rolling basis. You can expect an answer within 2-3 business days of your application.
