From Wick Week to family weekend to Hawks’ Night Fever, the entire Hartwick community (families included) experiences our vibrant campus, and feels that strong sense of pride.

FLIGHTPATH

Taking flight. Gaining momentum.

At Hartwick, your student’s journey is completely personalized. It’s an experience called FlightPath, and it gives your student all the tools they need to succeed—tools like a built-in digital resume, early job experience, and developmental landmarks focused on post-graduate success. Through mentorship and real-world work experience, your student will be prepared to meet the needs of the 21st century. And with a personal Guidance Team dedicated to supporting your student every step of the way, they’ll find their voice and their place, and navigate their college journey.

PERSONAL GUIDANCE TEAM

Your student will receive personalized support with a Guidance Team that evolves to address their aspirations and goals. From day one, your student is assigned a Success Coach to lead their personal Guidance Team, as well as a Faculty Advisor, and the addition of an Alumni Mentor and Career Coach over time.

Success Coach

A key ally in adjusting to college, connecting with campus resources, and moving through challenges into a successful future.

Faculty Advisor

A partner in choosing classes, navigating changes, and staying on track toward a degree.

Career Coach

The go-to person for one-on-one career guidance and practical advice tailored to your student’s goals.

Almuni Mentor

A valuable contact for real-world insights, getting career ready, and preparing for life after Hartwick.

Career Preparation

The Strengths Assessment, taken in the first year, helps your student and their Guidance Team identify natural strengths and abilities, so they can set intentional personal and professional goals.

Drawing from your student’s Strengths Assessment and individual goals, this unique course taken in the fall is designed to help your student explore the Hartwick community, collaborating on projects that empower them to take advantage of FlightPath opportunities.

During an all-in professional conference, your student will learn what it takes to grow in their career, and the art of networking.

With their classmates, your student will travel to major cities, visit businesses, and tour alumni workplaces. They’ll gain insider insights and make meaningful connections for the future.

Digital Resume

Your student will begin building it as soon as they’re on campus. It’s far more valuable than a transcript because their digital resume acts as evidence of how your student’s academics and activities are interconnected and strategic — and offers future employers a full picture of just how ready your Hartwick student is to contribute at a high level from day one.

Opportunities with Support

Your student has their very own Career Coach to assist with resume building, interview preparation, finding the perfect internship, and job shadowing.

Your student will have an Alumni Mentor in their junior and senior years, helping them enhance their career readiness and also envision their life after graduation. This relationship is not only valuable as a link to post-grad internships and opportunities, but also meaningful — the Hawk community is tight-knit, and knows that great things happen when we help each other take flight.

We know future employers seek graduates with real-world work experience, and the ability to adapt easily. FlightPath provides a framework for Hawks to develop all of these skills and access to extensive career opportunities and alumni networks.
