Poet Clarke to Read in Hartwick’s Visiting Writer’s Series

Poet and essayist Robin Clarke will read from her work as part of the 2018–19 Visiting Writers Series at Hartwick College. Clarke’s presentation be Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. in Eaton Lounge, Bresee Hall, on the College campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Clarke writes poetry and nonfiction and teaches writing at the University of Pittsburgh, where she has been involved in organizing a faculty union. Her first book, “Lines The Quarry” (Omnidawn, 2013), won the Omnidawn 1st/2nd book prize for poetry, and she is also the co-author, with Sten Carlson, of the chapbook “Lives of the Czars” (nonpolygon, 2011). An excerpt from her memoir, “Those Little Anodynes,” won the 2016 Tupelo Open Prose Contest. She is also completing a Master of Social Work degree in order to practice psychotherapy. She lives with her partner and their two daughters in an intentional community of gardeners, activists, peacemakers, and healers.
