Living on Campus

At Hartwick, housing isn’t just about having a place to sleep. It’s about making the Hill your home.

Residential Campus

Hartwick is a fully residential campus, meaning nearly all students live on campus for their three or four years. (Good news! You’ll never have to run to catch the bus or miss breakfast before class.) You’ll have easy access to dining options, fitness centers, campus activities, tutoring and study hours. At Hartwick, we live where we learn!

Residential Advisors

Resident Advisors are student leaders that are infused throughout our residential communities. RAs help you settle in and get a good start with your roommate, serve as a support system throughout your time in the halls, and help you build life skills in everything from cooking to career planning. You’ll meet one-on-one with your RA at the start of the semester, and continue to build a relationship that will help you feel safe, welcome, and ready to thrive.

Residence Halls

Your time on campus is designed to bring increasing independence with each year. New students are housed in our First Year Quad buildings: Saxton Hall, Wilder Hall, and Holmes Hall. Rising Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are able to participate in the Housing Selection process during the Spring semester to choose their room for the following year. Rising Seniors select first, followed up rising Juniors and so on. All along the way, Resident Advisors are always available to foster a safe and inviting community.

Our traditional residence halls have lounges for studying, hanging out with friends, playing games, even cooking a meal. Townhouses and the Day Apartments bring those options right to you, with a kitchen and living room included in your space. Either way, on-site laundry facilities make it easy to check that chore off your list.
