Our Door is Always Open

Welcome to the Hartwick College Office of Student Experience. Our door is always open for you.

Students are at the heart of what we do. As the Assistant Vice President of Student Experience, I oversee a broad range of programs and services that intentionally promote student learning and development through varied, high-quality services. These programs and opportunities will allow you to balance the components of intellectual, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual growth.

We are dedicated to creating a truly dynamic experience within a campus culture that embraces the College Mission and our Divisional Mission and Core Values .

Each and every day, our students are challenged to explore new things in and outside of the classroom. They leave here very different people from when they arrived. We want to ensure you make the most of this remarkable experience, because your years at college are an important time to learn and to grow.

Our offices are staffed by dedicated, knowledgeable, professional individuals who are eager to meet you, get to know you, and assist you in any way we can. By helping you navigate your college experience, we aim to facilitate your success as a student and a community member. The staff in the Office of Student Experience looks forward to working with you — whether you need our advocacy on a particular issue, assistance in solving a problem or answering a question, or simply someone to be there to listen. We offer a wide range of services and support to keep your day-to-day student life running smoothly; allowing you to concentrate on academic and personal success. I strongly encourage you to visit us and take advantage of our resources and expertise.

Also, be sure to get involved with one or more of the many organizations that Student Experience has to offer through Hartlink. The rewards and opportunities for personal and professional growth are limitless. Please use this website to explore the variety of options that are available to you. If you don’t find what you are looking for, contact me. Your questions, concerns, comments, and suggestions are always welcome, and will help me in my role as a student advocate.

A Hartwick College education changes lives! What you do and learn here—from making friends to acquiring valuable knowledge and skills—will last you a lifetime.

Go Hawks!

Sincerely,

Core Values

Students will work with trained and skilled Student Experience professionals who are dedicated to developing students’ full potential by embracing the following student-centered core values:

  • Balance: Personal, academic, and social
  • Creativity: Expression of thoughts and ideas
  • Diversity: Appreciation for social, cultural, and spiritual differences
  • Integrity: Respect, civility, and responsibility
  • Teamwork: Innovative collaboration with College and community partners

Student Affairs Professionals

Student Experience is a member of the National Association for Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and the American College Personnel Association (ACPA). We support the assumptions and beliefs, as well as the role of Student Affairs professionals, as outlined in “A Perspective on Student Affairs,” a statement issued on the 50th anniversary of The Student Personnel Point of View. We assess our programs and services based on professional standards developed by the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education.
